June Wrap-Up: Discover Ontario

This month, the team at Ontario Tourism hosted us for our monthly meetup at Evergreen Brickworks for a night of VQA Ontario wine, culinary delights, Ontario craft brewery beers, outdoor adventure and fantastic prizes!

The theme of the evening was about Discovering Ontario, and this message was certainly instilled in all of us! Here is a highlight of the people and sponsors that made the night so magical:

Evergreen Brickworks

After being greeted with Ontario Wine and Craft brewery beers, the team at Evergreen gave us a tour of their space and showed us how they have made adaptive reuse of a space into an environmental community centre.

Named as one of the Top 10 geo-tourist destinations in the world, they also talked about their mandate to create a holistic environment for children to help them build their curiosity and interest in our environment. It was hard to believe we were still in the middle of Toronto at some points and we even spotted some great wildlife including birds and turtles.

Ontario Culinary Tourism Alliance

Rebecca LeHeup from @OntarioCulinary is a culinary tourism guru and we’re so pleased to hear of all the amazing projects she is working on to offer more tours for the foodies of the world! Culinary tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, and booming in Ontario. OCTA is your best resource for ideas, photos, videos and invitations to upcoming FAMs. Whether your pleasures are food, wine or beer, Ontario will whet your appetite any time of year!

Ontario Craft Brewery Beers

Did you know there are over 29 craft beers across Ontario? We had a chance to sample some of them and discovered that some of these beers are highly recognized internationally (not to mention they taste great too!) For merely $12 you can help support the local economy, so think about this the next time you buy your next brew! Big thanks to Ontario Craft Brewers for the samples!

Wine Country Ontario

Although Niagara is the largest producing wine region in Ontario, the team at Wine Country Ontario reminded us of all the other great places you can enjoy local wine including Peelee Island and Prince Edward County (to name a few).

This night of course would not have been possible without the wonderful team at Ontario Tourism for putting together such a fantastic event.
