Can you believe it? TBEX Toronto has come and gone! Last week more than 1300 travel bloggers, PR professionals, and industry reps converged in the T-Dot for networking, insightful learning sessions, and intense workshops. Business aside, we can’t forget the pre-parties, the parties, and the post-parties (and in some cases, the post post-parties!)
Of course, the pre-TBEX party Thursday night was the place to be (not to mention the line up that was out the door and around the corner!) Having sold out tickets in less than ONE hour when we first announced the big bash in May, we were ready to host the best Travel Massive party yet! Over 200 nomadic and wandering travel bloggers along with online travel industry swarmed to one of our favourite venues, the Irish Embassy Pub. The pub is a Canadian architectural and historical heritage site and was home to one of Toronto’s oldest banks!
We kicked off the TBEX weekend to celebrate all things travel, our community, but most importantly to show off the best we have to offer Canadian-style! No wonder the line-up fishtailed around the pub!
The Menu
Jamie and his amazing team at the pub featured some of the best in Canadian foods. They showed off how we do it here in the Great White North with delicious Quebec cheese, Oysters from Prince Edward Island, Canadian peameal bacon, and Amen for Molson Canadian Beer and Caesars!
The Community
While each month Toronto Travel Massive hosts fun meet-ups for our local community, this month we were ecstatic to welcome the global Travel Massive community to our hometown!! We couldn’t believe how far away people have to come to attend TBEX and Toronto including Amanda of Dangerous Business and Captain and Clark from the US, RTW Dave of Medellin Living from Columbia, Nellie of Wild Junket from Spain, Shivya of India Untravelled from India, and Dan and Audrey of Uncornered Market from wherever they’re roaming these days!
In the house were some familiar Canadian favourites we missed too like The Planet D, Pete and Dalene from Hecktic Travels, Jodi of Legal Nomads, Kristen of Hopscotch the Globe, Backpack with Brock, Cailin of Travel Yourself and Mikey from Kick the Grind TV. With TBEX 2013 over, it’s no longer a surprise the travel community in Canada are some of the most influential (and crazy) travel peeps out there!
There were also many FIRSTS at TBEX’s Toronto Travel Massive this year. We introduced some newbies to our Canadian Caesars (ehem… Andrew and Gary) and Rob from Stop Having a Boring Life lost his virginity to us.

Of course, what is a Toronto Travel Massive event without FREE giveaways?!!
