February Meet-Up: Craft Beer and Pinterest

🇨🇦 This article was originally published on the Toronto Travel Massive blog

This February we were hosted by our good friends at Mill Street Brew Pub. Our event was a mix of social networking and insightful session on social media. Paula Coop McCrory – Power Pinner and Top 30 Pinners on Pinterest – was on hand to offer effective tips for brands and bloggers using Pinterest.

Mill Street was the perfect venue for travellers where they do beer just like they do it Germany. Shout out to Jason from Tour Guys for suggesting this awesome brewery for our meet-up! Housed in an original tankhouse (fittingly located on 21 Tank House Lane), the building is over 150 years old! It’s located in Old Toronto in the classic victorian Distillery District and where Toronto brewed its first pint of beer in the 1870s.

Paul, Dorene, Troy, the Global Sunrisers and many others joined us!

The new beer hall is one year young this year and it meshes German fare with a contemporary twist. Their beer is hand-crafted and brewed in the same 150 year-old tradition past Toronto distillers once brewed it! In Toronto, they are known for their beers on tap – they have over 15 local kinds you can sample including Tankhouse Ale we were lucky to sample (aromas of citrus and spice with roasted notes, complex malty texture with a snappy bitterness from the cascade hops). Mill Street is also the only brewery in Canada that makes beer schnapps!  Around here it’s also known as the go-to place for local beer in Toronto so when we got to try our tastebuds at their new menu we were pleasantly surprised!

If you have a chance to sample their fare, you will not be disappointed. Their sharing plates are full of flavour and their desserts are light enough to have more than just one (and you will!) Pair either with a beer, grab a communal table (like in Germany) and enjoy! Any day of the week, you can drop in for a beer tour and learn how to make that perfect pint!

Mill Street also offered all attendees $10 off their next dinner!

Thank you Mill Street for hosting us at your new digs! We love the new Beer Hall and can’t wait to be back for patio season (they have a pretty rad space to sip on beer on a hot, sunny day).
