Leader of the Pack: Alexia of Athens

With the largest travel blogger conference taking place next month in Athens, Greece we think it’s the perfect time to get to know this Travel Massive city. In our Leader of the Pack series we meet Alexia Kotsi of Travel Massive in Athens.

What is your connection to the travel industry?

I am a PR & Corporate Communications Manager at Travelplanet24/Tripsta, one of the largest online travel agencies in South East Europe. I also hold a MSc in Tourism Marketing from University of Surrey, UK and like many, I love to travel!

How did you first get involved with Travel Massive? 

As I was looking for bloggers & travel influencers for several collaborations, I came across the community! I was instantly inspired by the idea and unique initiative to bring bloggers, brands, and influencers together.

Why did you decide to organize Travel Massive meet-ups in Athens?

I wanted to bring together fresh ideas & inspiration to the people who spend so much time around their work and hobby, and to meet anyone who loves to travel as much as I do!  Also, I feel it is a great example of what social media can really achieve, as it is an amazing way to connect with new people all over the world.

What is the best thing about being a part of Travel Massive?

The connection, participation and similarity with other people across the globe! Travel Massive might be locally-based events but you really feel part of a greater, global community. You feel excited that you share the same passion, vision and joy with the rest of the world!

Why should people attend Travel Massive in Athens?

They should attend Travel Massive in Athens if they want to meet new people, exchange ideas and communicate under the same ideas and values. We’re also one of the most unique cities with a rich history and culture more people need to learn about!

What is the online travel industry like in Athens?

The online travel industry is quite “young” I could say! Athens is full of big online travel agencies and a lot of interesting travel startups popping up.  Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of travel bloggers based in but there is great future potential for more of them, especially as we host TBEX in October.

Indeed, you are about to host the biggest Travel Massive meet-up in Athens during TBEX, the largest travel industry conference in the world. Can you give us a sneak peak at what we can expect at the meet-up?

We want to host a really interesting meet-up, present our city with a different point of view and share our creative thinking with the rest of the world! We also started a Facebook page to update everyone on the TBEX-Athens event.
