Why Attend TBEX

Yesterday we shared some pics with you from our Travel Massive party at TBEX in Costa Brava Spain. The event and the travel blogger conference together were an opportunity to meet and connect with travel insiders inspired to take their travel business to the next level. We asked a few people from our Travel Massive community to share their key learnings, aha-moments and benefits they found throughout the 2-day gathering of workshops, networking, and industry learning sessions (and yes parties too).

Travel Massive Chapter Leaders from around the world meeting and connecting at TBEX

TBEX is an excellent networking opportunity not just to connect with tourism boards and brands but particularly with fellow bloggers who know and understand the industry. Extremely insightful and practical talk from industry experts provide with real tips that you can apply to your blogging straight away. Wonderful events, pre and after parties gave me a chance to meet blogging heroes and realise, they’re just like me! It’s a wonderful few days where everyone appreciates the value of bloggers, most especially the host destination who go out of their way to arrange pre and post trips with local suppliers and tour operators making sure you get the most value out of visiting the destination.

Wojtek Mania, Senior Project Manager Public Relations at Poznan Tourism Organisation

City of Poznan started regular cooperation with bloggers in 2012 (results available on their website). During this time we’ve built vast network of contacts. But attending events like TBEX brought us at least one level higher. Presented lectures and workshops helped us to get the big picture of tourism and new media in context of globalisation. Crucial (and positively exhausting) were speed dating sessions. We are looking forward to the effects of these contacts and for upcoming TBEX, also hoping to host it in the future!

TBEX in Lloret de Mar was my first TBEX conference, and it was worth every penny! I was a little daunted to meet everyone as I’ve only been in the blogging world for 1.5 years and my blog took off splendidly after just 6 months however, a key moment for me was finally meeting top veteran bloggers in person.

Dylan Lowe, Co-Founder of The Ripple Movement

TBEX has not only the ideal occasion for me to connect and reconnect with my peers in travel, both media and industry, but also the place to stay in sync with the latest innovations dreamt up by talented individuals amongst us. Out of all eight TBEX conferences I’ve attended, I’d go so far as to claim that each was defined by the key developments in our industry. TBEX is the exhibition of stellar accomplishments like the new Travel Massive online platform, Must Love Festivals project and numerous examples of successful campaigns with tourist boards, but it’s equally the birthing suite of new ideas and future amazements. Bringing people together, having them stimulate and impassion each other, cohering their creativity so they find new ways to work together and push the boundaries of travel blogging and achieve something greater.
