A New e-Book for Digital Nomads

If you haven’t heard, travel blogger Dave Brett (of Travel Dave) from our Travel Massive London chapter is launching a new book! To help Travel Massive insiders understand the world on social media and technological advancement in the travel industry, we asked Dave to put together a little piece explaining what his new e-book Digital Nomad is all about.

“With the advancement of technology, global wifi coverage and the decline in global aviation costs, today it has never been easier to run and operate an online business from any location around the world.

You only have to jump on a flight to Chiang Mai and grab a Tuk Tuk to Nimman area to quickly spot thousands of digital Nomads who have opted into this lifestyle choice of remote working.

I faced this question when struggling to pay rent in London and having the passion to start a business and the desire to travel the world.

The perfect solution was to take a risk, try out this lifestyle and see if it could work for me.

Globally, content has never been more needed than ever before. We now require travel bloggers to create online travel information, web designers to create web pages, and developers to create apps for smart phones.

The need for content to be created is growing daily as mobile devices are being used more globally and we are now connected more than ever before, consumers require good content on the web and this can be created remotely with only a wifi connection.

This was the idea behind creating my second ebook Digital Nomad, to create a self help book full of useful information to lay out the steps needed to create this lifestyle for those who wish to try it out.”

Thoughts on writing a book?

“Writing a book can be compared to climbing a mountain, it does take some level of self discipline and focus, once you figure out a system that works, you create a structured rhythm, sort of like a grove train and the art of long form writing no longer is a challenge and more like an endurance race that you enjoy being a part of.

From an industry point of view, taking the time off to write a book might not be an option. This is why everyone doesn’t have a book, because it does require a chunk of your focused time, something that’s difficult to afford, but highly rewarded if you plan on taking a break from your day to day job. Once you’ve completed your first book it can be seen by the industry as a stamp of authority on the subject that you wish to be seen as an expert on.

With a book, you’ve created a little time portal to capture an audience, they can take your thoughts along to a coffee shop on a Sunday and hack at your opinions. Once its done, its done for life, creating and publishing a book is a wonderful experience I can highly encourage all to do.”
