Head South Travel App Thanks Travel Massive

Travel Massive success stories are about sharing sustainable and successful encounters that Travel Massive members have while at Travel Massive events across the globe. The following is a guest post by Travel Massive community member Nyeleti Mnisi, founder of Head South Travel App.

A week to go until the launch of Head South Travel App, we look back with gratitude at the how massive the project has been, and how we would not have realised it without Travel Massive. 

As a start-up attempting to penetrate the tourism industry, whilst browsing my twitter feed we came across Travel Massive. We noted that most industry leaders were part of the Travel Massive organisation.

We thought to ourselves the joining fee might be unaffordable, however to our amazement there was no fee.

It was then we attended our first Travel Massive event. We got there looking to make new contacts and engage with the people I had been struggling to get hold off, however we got more than we bargained for. We met Travel Massive chapter leader Neil Jansson who also runs Wemvula, an organization that offers a range of assistance to entrepreneurs, who has been an inspirational mentor and friend.  At that point we were in the incipient process of developing Head South Travel App.

Through the Johannesburg chapter we have received unbelievable support, and continue to be under the Travel Massive umbrella. We had very little understanding of the tourism industry, only textbook knowledge. It was through engaging on the platform where we gained real insight on the industry both nationally and internationally. We knew this was the industry we wanted to engage in. An industry that can alleviate poverty, fastest growing in the world and of course for the love of South Africa. Meeting people who are passionate about people, passionate about their country and developing the market is undeniably motivating.

More than just the insightful nature and the network, Neil has built a family culture within the Travel Massive Johannesburg. Tourism although a thriving industry, we all know nothing is automatic. Travel Massive is with you through your highs and lows, pushing you to realise your dreams. The consistent nature and diligence towards the cultivation of the tourism industry is nothing short of inspiring. It evokes a deep love and a sense of accountability to our country and those that live in it.

The deepest treasure is the shared goal we have to bring expansion to the tourism market in South Africa and the world. That mutual goal that Ian must have felt, permeates through the cities. We do this out of love and it is built into the foundation of the organisation. No idea is not worth looking at, no one is not worth a chance. Out of Travel Massive Johannesburg comes Head South Travel App that we believe will be a great catalyst into the tourism market in South Africa.
