Travel Massive Calgary meets Switzerland
Travel Massive Calgary had a wonderful opportunity to meet up with MySwitzerland and host a party at the Saltlik Steakhouse Calgary. On October 19th, Switzerland Tourism and partners invited a selected number of bloggers and media members to lunch as part of their media tour.
There was plenty of time to chat and to ooh and aaah over slides of the ever-gorgeous Swiss scenery. We left yearning for the Alps and are excited that Swiss International Air Lines will soon have two direct flights from Calgary to Zurich per week.
Much was said, glasses were clinked, there was a lot of good humour and good company. On the information side, as well as being charmed by the beauty and culture of absolutely every region, we picked up a few things to know about going to Switzerland from Calgary:
- SWISS Air International’s partner, Edelweiss, is going to be flying direct from Calgary to Zurich starting in May.
- There is an integrated transport network in Switzerland, run by the Swiss Transport System the STS pass allows you to travel by road, rail, and waterways and gets you into hundreds of museums.
- The hashtag #inlovewithswitzerland and the website myswitzerland.com will lead you to more information.
Many thanks to our hosts for the fun and informative lunch. It was also the first time some of us in Travel Massive Calgary had met each other – bonus!
Our most recent event held on November 2nd, was a meet up with 2014 National Geographic Travellers of the Year, Dalene & Pete of Hecktic Travels. We’re lucky to find the two of them at home here in Calgary. They’re going to come for a casual talk about their travels and building a business on the road.
