What makes your chapter unique?

We’re fairly new and still finding our thing, but so far we’re very informal, open to ideas, progressive in our thinking and want to inspire ‘10 x’ thinking!

Tell us about your chapter leader.

Jason Nockels and I met when we worked together at Air New Zealand’s Grabaseat – we shared a true passion for local domestic tourism and finding ways to get more people to explore their own backyard.  Now we work together at THL in different teams but sharing the same vision – just on a more global scale in a highly customer and digital driven world. Jason is the digital media guy and I wear the customer/marketing hat – we meet for coffee once a week, solve the world’s problems and have fun thinking about how we will grow and develop our chapter.

What is your most memorable event in this chapter?

Our most memorable event so far was definitely our most recent event at Cali – an all day eatery in Newmarket.  We had a great sponsor and visiting Irish travel bloggers ‘Wandering On’ in attendance.  It was a great turn out to meet Brian and Noelle who were starting an epic 3 month campervan road trip around New Zealand.

What were the last two events about?

Purely about getting the chapter up and running – we’re still building our profile and getting members coming along/joining the group.

For Travel Massive insiders reading this feature, we’d love to get your input on some new ideas for the Auckland chapter!

List some cool themed meet ups you could see this chapter hosting.

We are going to look at introducing a speed dating scenario every few meet ups so new members can network easier and quicker.  We will run themed events with sponsors and probably sooner rather than later, we will launch a meet up on the peer-to-peer/sharing economy and working with influencers/social marketers to lift brand awareness/engagement etc.

Our Featured Chapter post is a weekly series that profiles a unique Travel Massive chapter from around the world. Connect with Rebecca Duffy on Travel Massive or join the Auckland Chapter for updates on their upcoming event.
