We’ve Launched Our 5th Chapter in Africa

Following in the footsteps of Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth, on the 18th of November, as part of Travel Massive Day Africa, Kenya had its first Travel Massive event hosted at iHub. iHub is Nairobi’s innovation hub for the technology community and where Ideas Matter. 

The event brought over 60 members of the local travel community together to meet some of the technology community in Nairobi, which is the innovation capital of East Africa.

The official launch event was honoured to have their main sponsor NextGen. NextGen is a flight booking platform from South Africa which allows travel agents to access the best flight fares in Africa.

As part of the launch event, Simon Lewis from Cape Town Travel Massive attended the event to introduce Travel Massive to the local community. Following the wrap up of even, he took part in a road trip to visit Losokwane Camp responsible tourism initiative in the Massai Mara.

The event had a fantastic turn out, thanks to our new chapter leaders Margaret, Jason and Michelle. Travel Massive Nairobi already has over 100 members on our platform!

Our community in Kenya consists on mostly traditional travel industry professionals including hoteliers, travel agents and tour operators. However, we hope to see our first chapter in East Africa grow rapidly and look forward to more events in Nairobi in order to connect the local travel industry with innovators making a positive change in Africa.
