Snap Better Photos With the Help of Fripito

As part of our travel-tech startup series , we profile Jan Brezina, owner of Fripito and member of Travel Massive Prague. Jan is a professional photographer who started as a tour guide 10 years ago. Now he is helping photographers be at the right place, in the right time and to snap better photos.

Who is your startup for?

Fripito is mobile app with travel guides for photographers. We are working with local professional photographers to recommend the best places for taking pictures. If you travel somewhere, our guides will show you great locations with exact GPS coordinates and include travel and photo tips. 

What inspired you to create this app?

I do many photo trips for clients, but there are a lot of people who prefer travel at their own pace. We developed this app for independent travelers so we could help share our knowledge.

How did you begin to build this app?

I started two years ago with my spouse and friend. We developed the first version of the app on our own and filled it with our pictures and tips. I found a lot of great photographers who started cooperating with us later and we now cover 40 countries.

 How did you get your startup up and running?

We presented our first version at Photo Plus Expo 2014 and it helped introduce us to the world of professional photographers. I had a lot of contacts from my previous work experience, so it was easy to build up a team. 

How is your app changing the future of the travel industry?

We changed how travel guides look and function. Our guide is visual and focused on a specific group of travelers who love to take pictures. We believe in discovering the world through the viewfinder of camera.
