Why Travel Massive Cape Town is More Than Just Wine

Travel Massive brings to you a new series featuring our communities most amazing chapters! Written by Travel Massive insiders themselves, sharing with the world why they love their chapter meet ups!

Today’s featured chapter is brought to you by Andrew Cole, MC for PechaKucha Cape Town and one of our Travel Massive Cape Town insiders.

What do you do Andrew?

I help businesses show off their premises using similar technology used for Google Street View, thereby helping travellers to find and virtually explore places of interest using their mobile device, desktop or laptop. Clients include: V&A Waterfront, SAB, Red Bull Studio, First National Bank, Warwick Wines, Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons, Kitima Restaurant, Hussar Grill and dozens of others.

What makes your chapter unique?

Cape Town is the epicentre of South Africa’s tourism industry. It is home to the V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain (one of the 7 natural wonders of the world), extraordinary beaches and vibrant culture. It is a fantastic launch pad to explore a wide variety of experiences (including some of the best food and wine in the world) in close proximity to the city.

Tell us about your chapter leader

Dawn Jorgensen is an enthusiastic ‘go-getter’ who is a tireless ambassador for Cape Town and the country. She creates content online at The Incidental Tourist and is a beauty seeker and earth advocate.  Dawn is a conscious traveller who proudly represents tourism in Africa on a daily basis.

Simon Lewis plays a huge part in African tourism and he is the owner of Travel Concept Solution, a specialized marketing services agency.

What is your most memorable event in this chapter?

NAC Helicopters hosted a fantastic event recently that, for me, was one series of ‘small world’ encounters after another.  The evening featured some interesting, friendly people – locals and foreigners – who were keen to network…as always.

What were the last two events about?

SwissAir supporting Travel Massive Day in a country wide Travel Massive event that brought amazing Travel Massive insiders together and there were awesome prizes to be won.

The event before Travel Massive Day was about getting to know the Daddy Group of hotels and experiences. This event was to connect with people in our community from around the world who work in youth and student travel.

List 3 cool themed meet ups you could see this chapter hosting.

    1. Wine not? Getting to know some of Cape Town’s wineries in town.
    2. Care for some spirited conversation? Introducing some of the Western Cape’s top artisanal spirits producers.
    3. Hops to it, up and coming craft brewers of Cape Town. Woodstock has the highest concentration of microbreweries in the country.

Our Featured Chapter post is a weekly series that profiles a unique Travel Massive chapter from around the world. Connect with Andrew on Travel Massive or join the Cape Town Chapter for updates on their upcoming event.
