One of the hottest topics this year at ITB Berlin’s eTravel World was Snapchat. How does it work? Should my brand be on Snapchat? Alicia Drewnicki and Petra Vorackova answered these questions plus more.

What we think…

Despite the epic rise and popularity of Snapchat as one of the biggest social networks, travel brands still struggle to understand how to make use of the platform and the best way to engage. Sentiment of Snapchat in the tourism industry seems to be polarised between the believers and the nay-sayers.

However you might feel about Snapchat, there are now millions of millennial consumers on Snapchat with purchasing power and it’s only a matter of time before big brands in the travel industry get serious about it.

Feedback and reactions…

The presentation generated a lot of great feedback and questions, including a couple of interviews (see below). Afterwards we hosted an after party at Generator Hostel where we snapped into the night. Thanks to those that came along!
