The Best Tips for Successful Influencer Marketing

Freelance consultant Catharina Fischer joined Travel Massive in developing a workshop in Germany which was focused on providing quality tips for successful influencer marketing. 

Catharina works for Tourismuszukunft, one of the leading digital consultant networks in Germany. They support companies, mainly tourism but also other industries, to realize their digital projects, studies, campaigns. Furthermore they train and create digital mindsets and provide guidance and strategy for digital change.

In order to get a better insight into what Catharina has to share with Travel Massive Workshop insiders, we asked her a few questions.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background in the workshop field.

I have more than 8 years experience in tourism marketing and sales and more than 5 years experience in social media marketing on an international level, gained as Head of Social Media at the German National Tourist Board (GNTB). At the GNTB I developed a worldwide social media strategy for more than 12 international markets and designed several international online ­and social media campaigns with global influencers.

Based on that, I have a broad track­ record in managing large, international campaigns and a broad knowledge on how to measure the output. I was also responsible for the performance of all social media accounts including social advertisement, content management and distribution, blogger relations, social analytics and monitoring.

In 2014 I launched together with iambassador, the Social Travel Summit, an event where selected professional bloggers meet the industry in order to share knowledge of successful campaigns and how to integrate Blogger Relations into your marketing.

What inspired you to lead a Travel Massive Workshop?

I think if you have gained knowledge and experience in a certain field, it can only grow if you shared the information with others. I am very passionate about the possibilties of our communication and am keen to support any first idea, thought and project.

Are there any additional tips you’d like to share with our Travel Massive readers?

I think todays communication and marketing needs first and foremost, authenticity. It is a requirement for success. In todays fragmented and linked society, professional communication and marketing can no longer hide behind colourful displays or ad banners. No one can teach you that. You have to be out there, listen carefully, in order to find the voice speaking for your brand. Influencers can help you to build and also to create a voice. But this needs guidance and time.
