The Sustainable Tours of Düsseldorf, Germany

As our chapters begin to evolve and people start travelling distances to get to various Travel Massive events across the globe, it’s time to look into some awesome sustainable tours that you can be joining in on while you’re there.

As one of Europe’s more inspiring destinations for artists and designers, Düsseldorf boasts some neat tours around the area by foot. While many cities might be harder to explore without the use of transit, Düsseldorf is the perfect city for a stroll along the Rhine River as you embrace the scenery in the most sustainable manner – walking.

We touched base with Jenna Davis, travel blogger and chapter leader of Düsseldorf and Cologne Travel Massive to learn more about this wonderful city! Here are just a few tours worth mentioning if you’re planning on making it to the next Cologne/Düsseldorf Travel Massive Meet-up.

Harbour-Houses-Tour in MedienHafen

The MedienHafen is one of the cities fastest growing areas and now houses some of the newest media industry brands in the city. While the Medienhafen was once a port primarily home to old torn down warehouses, it is now a beautiful harbour filled with life, art and high class dining.

The Frank O. Gehry buildings are just one stop along the way, followed by the parliament buildings and a beautiful view of the Rhine Tower.

Tours are run on Fridays and Saturdays at 14:30, Sundays at 11:00. This tour is operated by one of our Travel Massive insiders, Düsseldorf Tourismus.

The Alt Bier Safari

This tour is unique no matter where you’re from. Alt bier is Düsseldorf’s well known old beer brewed right in the city. This Alt Bier Safari tour offers you an opportunity to join in on a 2 hour walking tour through the old and historical town while stopping off at five different microbreweries along the way. If you have a chance to photograph more than the beer in your hand, the Altstadt (old town) is certainly worth a few photographs!

Eat the World Düsseldorf City Tours

There is not just one tour to choose from, but a few around the city that showcase Düsseldorf’s most local cuisine. Help support locals and choose to join in on some sustainable travel fun while you explore the beautiful city with Eat the World Tours. Instead of heading to a restaurant rating site in the area, experience the local cuisine first hand with a guide who is willing to show you all the secret spots in the city for the best pork knuckle, döner and beer!
