We asked Sachin Jain and Abhinav Mittal a few questions about how Travel Jar started up and where they found growth and success along the way.

Who is your startup for?

Travelers – Anybody who likes to travel, capture memories and cherish/relive/share them for eternity.

What inspired you to create Travel Jar?

While travelling, a individual captures hundreds or thousands of photos and videos, but they are often unable to share everything due to lack of tools, time, etc. Even with only pictures and videos the whole story doesn’t come out. We wanted to capture special moments/feelings too. We decided to create an app which will convert all travel memories into a beautiful Story Telling Movie which can be shared and relived anytime you want.

How did you first build your startup?

First we researched the problems that travelers face when it comes to sharing or reliving memories. We then made a prototype, approached some travelers, took their feedback, built a MVP and now we are on Android, soon to be added to IOS.

How did you get your startup off the ground running?

Creating an app which can automatically convert your travel memories into a beautiful story telling movie in just few minutes was really tough. There were many challenges but we never gave up. We have recently launched our app on android and are gaining traction through social media as well as at offline travel related meet ups. Slowly we will move into affiliate programs too.

How is your startup different from others?

1) We give you an automatic movie of your whole travel trip
2) We capture more than pictures and videos, you can save places you visited as well as capture your moods too
3) There are some tools/services where you can keep your photos/videos together and can share/relive them but again they are mixed up

Do you have any tips for new startups?

Follow your dream and do the work with all your heart. There will be many challenges you will face while you are building your dream start up, but never give up. Good things happen to those who hold on and continue to strive everyday without the losing the enthusiasm.

How do you think we can become better travellers?

Do not rush for everything at one time. Meet strangers, connect with locals, enjoy their food and culture. Speak, speak speak and speak with every person you meet.

As a startup, what benefits have you seen from being a part of the Travel Massive community?

Meeting people from the same industry with whom you can partner with and grow is the best thing that can happen to your start up/company. Travel Massive meet ups does the same you meet bloggers, experts, other companies in the same domain with whom you can tie up and work together.
