How to Use Your Travel Massive Profile to Network

We all know that the face-to-face connection may bring some great potential partnership opportunities, but why not start introducing yourself online?

Every month we host tons of events across the world. Whether the Travel Massive chapter leaders are inviting you for a sponsored event, happy hour drinks at a hotel, or taking you on the hike of a lifetime, these are all important ways to network with other likeminded travel industry professionals.

Here are a few tips to help you figure out how to use your Travel Massive profile to network not only before and after events, but to reach out to companies from across the world.

1. Click on the ‘Companies’ tab and explore

It really is that simple. There are thousands of companies who are part of Travel Massive that are interested in connecting with industry professionals. Click on the ‘Companies‘ tab to start exploring.

Tip: You can also search companies based on their industry (accommodation, aviation, business travel, marketing, media, technology and more) and their country base. Perhaps you’re planning a trip to a new city next month and there’s a local Travel Massive event taking place. Use this as an opportunity to explore the potential companies that you might meet while you’re there.

2. Follow the companies that interest you

When you follow a company on Travel Massive, you have the opportunity to introduce yourself. Use this as a way to start the conversation, by letting them know who you are and what you hope to achieve by networking on Travel Massive.

3. Use that fancy new blue speech bubble

Oh yes, that one, in between the search engine and the news features. This blue speech bubble actually links you to an online space where you can tell the entire community what you’re up to, what questions you have or where you’re travelling next. Perhaps you’re looking to work with a team of content creators, simply type in your requests and press post. You can include links, and you can add your location for more interaction.

4. Start interacting in the Travel Massive forum

The Travel Massive Forum is a great way to start a more lengthy conversation with other Travel Massive professionals. Perhaps you’d like to chat about your thoughts on the Tiger Temples in Thailand or you’d like to figure out which cities are the best for startups, regardless this is the place to be. Similarly, you can use the forum to engage with companies, you can tag them when asking a specific question or when providing your answers to someone elses question.

5. Update your profile

Let people know who you are, what you do and what you’re looking for on Travel Massive. If you’re interested in working with tourism boards to build up your travel blog, or partnering with some tech startups for inspiration, let the community know in your profile.

These are all very simple ways to interact and network online. The tools are all in place for you, now all you have to do is get started!
