Travel Massive Atlanta Learns About Israel Tourism

The Atlanta Travel Massive chapter teamed up with Israel Tourism, to learn more about the beautiful country, specifically their destinations, culture and food.

Switchyards served as our venue and is a co-working space and startup incubator located in a historic building in downtown Atlanta. They have both office spaces as well as their own private coffee shop and meeting spaces. Our members Jason of Vayando and Justin of Faretrotter even have space here!

Local restaurant Yalla, located at the popular food hall Krog Street Market, provided light appetizers including hummus, baba ganoush, and the popular sabich sandwiches made with hard boiled eggs and eggplant.

The Evenings Events

  • Chapter leader Caroline Eubanks spoke about what Travel Massive Atlanta is all about and about the next month’s event before introducing the evening’s speakers.
  • Jason Sosnovsky from Switchyards talked about the space and how they came to be.
  • Dana Shemesh, of the Israel Ministry of Tourism, spoke of their focus on the country’s culinary tourism this year.
  • We then introduced Chef Todd Ginsberg, the chef behind Yalla and other local favorites like Fred’s Meat and Bread and The General Muir. It was a transformative trip to Israel that helped him create Yalla’s menu. He talked about his favorite dishes he ate while there and the unique things he was able to experience. Attendees were able to ask him questions as well to potentially inspire their own trip to Israel.

Thanks so much to our sponsors, hosts, speakers and to Jason Seagle for his photos featured in this post!
