It’s 2016 and with more than 20,000 members across 157 different countries, the Travel Massive accommodation startup community is certainly growing. 

We thought you might be interested in getting a sneak peek into 7 of our most popular cities for accommodation startups.

Whether you’re looking for some new partnership opportunities or craving to test the waters in tourism and accommodations, here’s our list of 7 popular cities for accommodation startups.

1. Cape Town

Travel Massive Cape Town has shown major growth in the last few years and now has a community of more than 800 members. Just to name a few accommodation startups in the area: Quiver Tree Self-Catering Apartments, Hostival and  LekkeSlaap.

2. Berlin

Travel Massive Berlin is one of the most international cities across the globe. Berlin is a hot spot for startups and apparently a great place for accommodation startups too. Check out Generator Berlin for example.

3. San Francisco

Travel Massive San Francisco has already been listed as one of Travel Massive’s top 10 inspiring chapters to follow, perhaps it’s their success in accommodation startups that helps them lead the way. Check out a few of their awesome community members: Beyond PricingNoe’s Nest Bed & Breakfast and Suiteness. Our Travel Massive San Francisco office is also supported by Nomad-A-What which is owned by Darren Overby, who is also owner of Pacific Tradewinds Hostel.

4. Johannesburg

Premier Hotel and Spa Cullinan, Curiocity Backpackers and The Reef Hotel are all prime examples as to why Johannesburg takes the lead on one of the top cities for accommodation industry professionals. It makes sense, who doesn’t want to travel to South Africa for a holiday?

5. Prague

Travel Massive Prague has great connections to the accommodations industry and has used this to their advantage for hosting some of the coolest events. Mosaic House, The Sheraton and Fusion Hotel Prague has been a proud sponsor for Travel Massive Prague events in the past and we look forward for more to come!

6. Gold Coast

There’s just over 135 members in the Travel Massive Gold Coast community group to date, but they’re high on top when it comes to accommodation professionals. From directors of sales at the Radisson Blu to area managers at Orbitz, there’s quite a selection of industry professionals focused on accommodations. Our Brisbane Travel Massive chapter is also leading the industry with companies like Alluxia which was founded by our Brisbane chapter leader, Sally Scott. Perhaps you’re heading to Sydney? contacts like Bryon Merzeo who works with Deloitte in Hotel consulting are also part of the Travel Massive community.

7. Miami

Miami is a hot spot for travellers and vacation go-ers, so it only makes sense that companies like Oasis Collections and Fontainebleau Miami are present in the Travel Massive community.
