Showcase Your Business Offerings on TheWorldRoutes

Chris van der Nest, head of sales and operations at TheWorldRoutes, helps travellers explore their surroundings and make contact with the entities needed to help them have a wonderful trip. 

Chris is part of our Travel Massive Cape Town chapter and is working hard to provide businesses with an innovative digital platform that allows them to showcase their business offerings to the global traveler. It is TheWorldRoutes goal to give them an opportunity to reach more potential clients and position them on the global “travel map”.

They want to provide travellers with a definitive travel partner, give them the ability to pre-plan and plan for all their travel requirements with geo-specific information and a platform to record and share all of their travel moments.

What do you hope to achieve?

We want to be able to assist in any eventuality that a person might find themselves in, without having to navigate numerous sites, especially if they’re not sure if they can trust the source.

How did you build your startup?

We started in 2013 with the project, embarking on fact-finding exploration through the ever hazy world of IT Gurus. The learning curve was ever so steep, but dedication and trust in our product kept us going.

How is your startup disrupting the travel scene today?

We do not want you to answer questions when you should be travelling, we want to show you options and provide you with reputable solutions that instil confidence and the want to explore.

How did you get your startup off the ground and gaining traction?

We are combing a traditional e-mail marketing campaign with a social media awareness campaign to get traction.

Do you have any tips for new entrepreneurs who want to create a successful startup?

Believe in your product, persist with best practice and listen to any advice but choose what you use.

As a startup, what benefits have you seen from being a part of Travel Massive meetups? 

Travel Massive gave us a new perspective on how blogging should be incorporated into providing new and current information. The functions, like the Cape Town Aquarium event is one of the best networking events we have attended. It is a given that this organisation is playing a leading role in modern day travel.
