Meet Alexandra Lavida, Chapter Leader of Patra and Western Greece

Interested in joining in on the fun with Travel Massive Patra and Western Greece? Well, it’s time to meet the chapter leader, Alexandra Lavida.

Alexandra is a Greek -American and started working in the tourism industry immediately after her studies. She worked selling time share packages and organising various tourism events. A few years later she worked as a receptionist for two hotels in Athens, Greece. Alexandra is now working for Athens and Crete Urban Adventures, and is managing the marketing for two yachting and cruising companies, Brilliant Maritime Ltd and Creta Luxury Cruises.

How did you first get involved with Travel Massive?

I first got involved with with Travel Massive through Rebecca Skevaki, manager and owner of Athens and Crete Urban Adventures. She is one of the three Chapter Leaders in Crete and I helped her organise last winter’s events on the island.

What motivates you to be part of Travel Massive?

Travel Massive is a platform that gives you the opportunity to build your brand, connect, network and promote your business and destination while receiving help from the founders and other chapter leaders and members.

It would be a pity to not be motivated by all that.

What makes your city a great place for Travel Massive?

The area itself I would say. Mountains for winter sports, sea for summer sports, the Rio Antirio Bridge in all it’s glory, historical sites and corporate businesses. Artistic and creative people get to mingle with the professionals, and the result is amazing.

Have you acquired any partnerships or professional opportunities from being part of the community?

Βeing a part of Travel Massive Crete and experiencing such a successful launch inspired me to think about the needs of Western Greece and how I could promote the region, which I consider to be very underrated. I am currently doing destination development for the area by bringing forward the region’s unique characteristics. Working next to Ioannis Bras who excels in the maritime field, led to my involvement with [maritime] contacts such as Variety Cruises, the President of Hellenic Professional Yacht Owners, the PPO and more. I am currently working with George Stamatakis of Creta Luxury Cruises and Panos Zikos of Brilliant maritime Ltd. I would also like to thank Anula Galewska and Kat Von B for all their help and for attending our event.

Do you have a past event that was your favourite?

The funnest one was definitely Ierapetra and Chrysi Island while on our road trip on Crete. Mr. Christos Manousakis of Crete Experience and Chapter leader of Crete as well, and Ms. Ioanna Madala really made our stay there memorable.

What is your best advice to a newcomer who wants to attend a Travel Massive event for the first time?

Go for it, there can only be a great outcome.
