Letishia Wins Atlantic Beach Hotel Luncheon

Letishia Charles, part of our Travel Massive Cape Town chapter, recently won a Atlantic Beach Hotel Luncheon at the #WomenInTourism event. Want to hear how it went?

We asked Letishia to tell us a bit more about the #WomenInTourism event and then share with us what she did with her winnings after the event took place.

What do you do Letishia?

I am an entrepreneur. A lover of coffee, chocolate and travel and love finding new places to see in my beautiful city of Cape Town. I offer social media management services to the hospitality industry through by business, Queen Bee Marketing.

Tell us about the #WomenInTourism event

I recently attended an event hosted by Travel Massive Africa and the Department of Tourism at the opulent One and Only Hotel in the Waterfront, to honour #WomenInTourism in the month of August. I was inspired by so many hardworking and passionate women who all have such a vital role to play in travel and tourism in our country. Our future leaders will not be left wanting when it comes to strong female role models!

Tell us about your Travel Massive success story

Besides the amazing connections that were made, I was also the very lucky recipient of a lunch at Atlantic Beach Hotel on the West Coast!

I didn’t waste too much time thereafter and immediately booked a date for myself and two other close friends to enjoy a day out enjoying a meal at this lovely venue. The West Coast is a beautiful area and we were spoiled with a gorgeous and sunny day too. The General Manager, Lionel Versfeld was on hand to welcome us along with his team, Marshallino and Shawaal who served us that afternoon. The dining area was simply decorated with lovely modern touches. As one does, we started lunch with a bottle of Bovlei Sparkling Wine to celebrate our good fortune, friendships and the good food we were looking forward to! We each ordered delicious starters and mains and the portions were really ample (if not more than we expected!).

After our delightful lunch, the GM, Lionel, kindly showed me around Atlantic Beach Hotel’s events’ venue spaces and the spacious rooms. This is a lovely destination and it is easy to see why this four-star boutique hotel is such a well-liked venue on the West Coast. It is located in a really peaceful spot by the sea and has the most magnificent views from some of the rooms.

We left there feeling refreshed and happy and would definitely look forward to returning soon!
