10 of the Top Travel Massive Events in 2016

There’s no doubt we’ve had some stellar Travel Massive events this year, big and small, but aren’t you the least bit curious as to which 10 were the biggest?

Here are just 10 of the top Travel Massive events from 2016. Over the year we’ve had a wide variety of events popping up all over the world including parties, workshops, Barcamps, speed networking events and more. There’s educational, beneficial and of course, there is epic.

ITB Opening Party

The Travel Massive ITB Opening Party just happened to fall on the 8th of March, International Women’s Day. In celebration of women in travel, Travel Massive Berlin put together the largest event of the year with 650 people. The event was hosted in Berlin’s famous artistic space Urban Spree and also hosted a small pop-up exhibition throughout the week called PLANET HER.

Travel Massive at WTM London

London Travel Massive hosted their biggest event of the year in collaboration with Cheapflights for their annual WTM networking evening. They took over the whole of Core in Bank on Monday, November 7th with more than 450 people in attendance. The event served as an excellent way for people to network in a casual setting, share ideas and meet fellow travel enthusiasts.

Travel Massive NYC & Women’s Travel Fest

On February 29th over 190 people joined Travel Massive NYC as they gathered together to kick off the Women’s Travel Fest in NYC. The party was hosted at the Crocodile Lounge and included sponsored drinks (Manhattans to be exact). There was also an after-event open mic night and plenty of giveaways from Reset Retreat.

April Travel Massive in New York with the Brooklyn Historical Society

The Brooklyn Historical Society and New York Travel Festival hosted the Travel Massive NYC event on April 13th this year, with over 180 people in attendance. This was a Brooklyn-focused event, where Travel Massive members enjoyed wine, Brooklyn Brewery beer, and light snacks while getting an expert’s overview of the borough’s culinary landscape.

Travel Massive Cape Town at Two Oceans Aquarium

On April 5th, Travel Massive Cape Town took 182 of their members into the depths of the oceans as they were hosted by Two Oceans Aquarium. The aquarium offered visitors the opportunity to discover the diverse marine life found off the southern African coast. On top of it all, wine was provided by Groot Constantia Wines and there were plenty of prizes to go around including accommodation vouchers and whale watching cruises.

#VisitCZ: A Special Travel Massive Event with Czech Tourism in NYC

NYC Travel Massive’s June event was hosted by CzechTourism at the Bohemian National Hall with more than 160 people in attendance. It was a wonderful evening filled with food, Czech beer, networking, and inspiration to #VisitCZ. They hosted a social media contest and gave away a trip to the Czech Republic for one lucky winner.

Travel Massive Minneapolis-St.Paul at TBEX Bloomington

Travel Massive Minneapolis-St.Paul kicked off TBEX with a Travel Massive party hosted with 150 people at the FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar at Radisson Blu Mall of America. In addition to music, delicious snacks, and great networking opportunities, there were interactive social media photo props and a live Twitter and Instagram feed on display. Travel Blog Success hosted a giveaway for a free TBS Membership, which is an online course and community for travelers.

Travel Massive San Francisco with Singapore Airlines and Hilton SF Union Square

Singapore Airlines and Hilton San Francisco Union Square invited more than 130 Travel Massive San Francisco members to check out Urban Tavern’s recent redesign and to celebrate the launch of Singapore Airlines’ inaugural nonstop A350 service from SFO to Singapore. Attendees had the chance to test out Singapore Airlines’ next generation Business Class seat and capture a selfie in the seat with iconic SIA Inflight Crew. They were then able to share their photo on Twitter and Instagram using #TravelMassiveSF to enter to win a trip to Singapore.

Travel Massive at Hyde Beach Miami Spring Fling

South Florida Travel Massive celebrated spring with a gathering at Miami’s hot locale – Hyde Beach Miami. Attendees had the chance to catch up on the latest in travel and network with other members with some delicious sponsored drinks and an awesome giveaway. There were more than 110 people in attendance at the event and it was a beautiful evening to celebrate travel.

All Aboard the UP Express with Tourism Toronto and Travel Massive

108 members from Toronto Travel Massive’s attended the April event hosted by Tourism Toronto. Attendees took a train trip out of the downtown core to explore the other side of the city with Union Pearson Express. While discovering Mississauga, Brampton, and the Airport Area, there were special guests on board, treats, tastings, and giveaways.
