Edinburgh Celebrates Christmas Fundraising £2795 for Charity

This year Travel Massive Edinburgh celebrated Christmas aboard The Royal Yacht Britannia while raising £2795.00 for Bloodwise Scotland and Maggies’ Centres.

We would like to thank our event sponsor The Royal Yacht Britannia, Marketing Manager Casey Rust, Senior Events Manager Diane McRae and the whole team for their generous hospitality and a superb welcome.

From the piper in full regalia on arrival to delicious drinks and canapes, sparkling Christmas decorations and tours of the yacht, this was an event never to be forgotten.

Casey shared a little bit of history The Royal Yacht Britannia including their exciting plans for a new floating hotel in the new vessel Fingal.

Star fundraiser Aileen Lamb of Scottish Enterprise spoke candidly about her own journey with cancer and the invaluable support she had received from charities Bloodwise Scotland and  Maggies’ Centres. Aileen and other community members sold a record number of raffle tickets this year for the chance to win some tremendous prizes, all generously donated by our community.

Thank you to all our amazing prize donors and everyone who bought tickets. We’re sending a special greeting to community member Scott Roland, partner of artist and blogger Julie Galante, who has experienced a similar journey to Aileen, and who has recently undergone a stem cell transplant.

This year’s fundraising brought in a tremendous  £2795.00, more than doubling our target from last year, dividing equally to Bloodwise Scotland and Maggies’ Centres.

A shout-out to Travel Massive New York and Sydney chapters for the photo challenges as we all held events on the same day – it was fun trying!
