Learn More About Travel Massive Melbourne

Meet JeanetteTravel Massive Melbourne chapter leader who is here to tell you a bit more about what makes the Melbourne chapter so awesome.

Jean helps travellers to connect with one another on a meaningful and workable level. On top of that, she is a native content creator, travel influencer, and an avid coffee nerd. All excellent reasons as to why we wanted Jean to share her top tips about Travel Massive Melbourne and what’s coming up next.

What makes your chapter unique?

The Melbourne chapter is as unique as the streets that we walk along. We have a great mix of travel start ups, bloggers, influencers and old school writers (not to mention our regular mix of transient members as Melbourne plays home to a variety of working holiday visa members). This results in our events bringing together a unique variety of people for some truly fun times.

Tell us about your chapter leaders.

Our chapter is lead by two fearless ladies that love to travel.

  • Katherine K is a marketing guru with a love of tea and a flair for the finer things in life.
  • Jean bounces around on copious amounts of coffee and adventures in between travels, brand engagement, and education.

What is your most memorable event in this chapter so far?

In conjunction with Context Travel, we ran a coffee based walking tour of Melbourne town. Allowing our members to see a different side of the city while networking with each other.

What happened at the last event?

We had a small intimate get together of lady travelers. The small setting allowed us to have some truly open and honest discussions on issues within the travel blogging industry. Our group workshopped how brands and bloggers can work better together, as well as the ethics of blogging.

If you could highlight 3 awesome people in your chapter, who would they be?

  • Zoe Palmer: PR Executive for the APT Group of brands: APT, Captain’s Choice, Travelmarvel, Botanica World Discoveries and Antarctica Flights.
  • Lara Budge: Works for Context Travel in Asia, a network of scholars and specialists—in disciplines including archaeology, art history, cuisine, urban planning, history, environmental science, and classics.cAlex Malone: Founder of Story of My World, Alex is working on a start-up around travel content, an online travel magazine sharing their world with you.

List 3 cool themed meet ups you could see this chapter hosting.

  • Brunch – Melburnians love a good brunch meeting.
  • A Scavenger Hunt (around the CBD) – With so much history here in Melbourne, this would be a lot of fun.
