Travel Massive Toronto Members Win Trip to Taiwan The Same Night
This was a different kind of event than others we have hosted because guests had two requirements to attend – they needed to bring their passport and a carry-on.
In 2016, Taiwan was selected as one of the top-16 up-and-coming destinations by CNN and this September Travel Massive in Toronto was hosted by Taiwan Tourism for a cocktail reception to explore why this destination is so talked about!
The event introduced us to this island-nation’s iconic street foods and traditions, and between networking and mix and mingling with travel professionals in the industry, the community also took to social media to enter for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime giveaway. Over the years, we’ve given away many trips but this would be a first for even this veteran chapter!
We were about to give away a trip for two lucky community members to jet set on a spontaneous weekend away – leaving that night.
All guests had to do was tweet and share why YOU want to go to Taiwan using #TaiwanNowBoarding.
Courtesy of EVA Airways and Taiwan Tourism, Maiku Wong and Ryan Woods walked off (we mean, more like bolted away) to the airport in a matter of minutes with nothing but their backpacks and passport in hand. They were chauffeured in style by limousine to the airport and, in just a matter of hours, they found themselves in a 5-star hotel in Taipei.
This is surely a story not to be missed, check it out on video:
And… if you’re even more eager to see what Maiku and Ryan got up to during their time spent in Taiwan, check out their YouTube videos from the trip:
