Travel Massive Uganda Has Launched

The launch of Travel Massive Uganda at Protea Hotel by Marriot in Entebbe on March 23rd was a great success with key players in the tourism industry of Uganda.
Amongst the guests was a representative from the Ministry of Tourism, two lordship mayors, Executive Director of the Uganda Wildlife Authority, The President of the Uganda Tourism Association (A parent association for all tourism players in the private sector), the chairperson of the Association Of Uganda Tour Operators, a chairperson of the Rwanda Development Board, Safari Guides, various tour operators, youth and woman activist.

The function started with a few guests speakers:

  • An introduction of Travel Massive by Timothy Kintu who shared what, how, who, plans, and benefits of Travel Massive
  • A talk by our host, the Managing Director
  • And some selected guests who expressed appreciation of being invited to the launch like:
    • Their interest in not only promoting tourism in the country, but in working together via networking, connecting, B2B, conferences to boost travel and economic activities in the East African Block.
    • The opportunity Travel Massive was offering to connect with the rest of the world and how first it was doing that
    • The guest from Rwanda was so happy and seeing the commitment, he immediately requested to join and also create a chapter for Rwanda, he too promised to invite members to Rwanda.

Amanda the chapter leader also continued to share more detail about Travel Massive and shared her experience having attended ITB. She informed the guests of the various expos and updates that are often sent weekly once one registered and most importantly, having a link with people from all the world with similar interest and accessibility to skill/ jobs from the community.

Later we crowned the speeches with a cocktail and various dialogues about poaching, conservation, product development, marketing tactics, improving touristic sites, and business card exchange. We had the opportunity to talk to some authorities without needing to book an appointment and learned how to prepare additional discussions moving forward. Before guests could disperse we informed them about more events like this to be happening in the future. Everyone seemed excited and really loved having the opportunity to connect with the Travel Massive community.
