Earn Money or Shop Internationally on Ouibring

Think about an amazing trip you’ve been on. I bet there was something you enjoyed there that you’ve not been able to find anywhere else. That’s an Ouibring kind of thing.

Ouibring helps travellers make money with spare luggage capacity. They connect people who are travelling with shoppers and provide them a safe and reliable platform to transact.

Whether you’re looking to make a few extra bucks, or you’re interested in kicking those cravings, we figured you might want to learn a bit more about Ouibring and what makes them special.

We had a chat with Joel Gordon, Founder and CEO at Ouibring, to see exactly how Ouibring came to life and all the exciting features they’re offering.

Who will benefit from using a service like Ouibring?

Ouibring is for travelers who want to make extra money and shoppers who want access to international products and prices.

The real attraction for shoppers who use Ouibring, is that they are able to get the exact product they’re looking for, rather than settling for a substitute (not to mention a possible fake). It also beats having to wait until your international friends come around for a visit. Our shoppers choose Ouibring because we are able to offer an excellent, reliable and effective way to get exactly what they want, no matter where they are in the world.

Our ‘bringers’ are travellers up for making extra money in a fun new way, who enjoy learning about new products and places to explore. We often get feedback from both parties about how much they enjoyed meeting each other to exchange the goods. Bonus!

Can you tell us a cool story about a recent Ouibring interaction?

One story I really enjoyed hearing about was from an Ouibringer who arrived with three massive bags of Monster Munch Pickled Onion and delivered them to a travel blogger living in Bangkok. It was amazing how something so small, that is so plentiful in one country, can be such a luxury for someone living in another. The Monster Munch completely made the shoppers day which was not only great feedback for us, but it made the Ouibringer’s experience much more worth it.

What inspired you to create Ouibring?

The idea of Ouibring stems from our experience gained living and working abroad for the last 15 years. That excitement you get when a special package is delivered by a friend… that magical feeling is exactly the inspiration for Ouibring’s tagline – “Bring a little happiness”.

At the same time, we can give travellers the chance to make a bit of money, and reduce waste by sharing their spare luggage capacity.

Great, but what makes you different from other similar startups out there?

One of the key challenges in making this kind of system work is establishing trust. We are able to offer that by creating a safe system that ensures delivery, as well as payment, for each transaction. We have recently partnered with an innovative Czech company, crown.tech, to provide secure and verifiable records of all transactions using Blockchain technology.

We keep it simple and charge a small fee to cover the cost of transactions. We listen to our customers, so we also have a cash on delivery option with no fees. Because our bringers are doing the leg work, we’ll always make sure that they get the lion’s share of the rewards.

How did you get Ouibring to gain traction in the market?

A little help from people like us. Since 2016, we have grown to 60 Thousand Facebook fans and counting.

We are always testing new ways to reach new customers and make sure our existing customers are happy. Having spent more than 15 years living and working abroad in Thailand, India, Singapore and Europe, this also gave us a great international network.

Additionally, we pitched our concept at StartupYard, Central Europe’s largest startup accelerator program, and won. We have also just announced a partnership with Busyman.cz, an established investor in Prague.

How is Ouibring changing the future of the industry?

The combination of increasing bespoke and localized manufacturing with more sophisticated consumers that travel often will create the perfect dynamic, scalable and agile global supply chain. The wasted capacity of empty luggage will diminish and people all over the world will be able to engage in a personal, reliable and trusted shopping and delivery experience with Ouibring.

Can you share with us any tips for new entrepreneurs?

Be really clear on what problem you are solving and for who. Make sure your customers really care about that problem and make sure to listen.
