Travel Massive Malta Launches in the Med

The inaugural event for Travel Massive Malta was a huge success! An eclectic group of travel industry insiders came together for an evening of networking and brainstorming at the beautiful Palace Hotel in Sliema.

Malta’s tourism industry has grown exponentially in recent years. That fact was heralded by guest speaker James Cassar – Ph.D. candidate at Bournemouth University and Director at My Event Planner – who offered a brief but powerful presentation on the benefits of B2B networking for tourism in Malta.

The Palace Hotel in Sliema graciously offered us their al fresco A Tavola restaurant in the Alexandra Gardens for our evening gathering. The Palace Hotel is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, with a stunning rooftop restaurant and patio area offering drool-worthy Instagram opportunities.

A Tavola was ideal for our group of 40 chapter members to gather privately and enjoy a lovely summer evening.

The Phoenix Raw Beer also sponsored this launch event, offering tastes of their four very popular brews. Everyone was thrilled to welcome this local microbrewery into the fold – and not just because of the free beer! Owners Alessandro and Federica were fantastically friendly. We will be excited to welcome them back to more Travel Massive events in the future!

Chapter Leaders Steven Frigerio and Chris Eckett gave a wonderful overview of Travel Massive for all our new members. Their excitement was palpable as they both conveyed the benefits this collaborative group can bring to each of us in the industry.

Between chapter leaders and members, many attendees had been part of other Travel Massive chapters around the world. Their experience came together with those who are brand new to Travel Massive, creating an electric atmosphere of sharing ideas for the future of tourism in Malta.

From inbound and outbound agencies to bloggers and tour guides, everyone was enthusiastic about making new connections and collaborating. Companies that joined the evening included Connect Travel, Villager Tours, Bilom Holidays, SaveandWave, A+DMC Malta, Lenise Calleja Photography, Hamilton Travel & Locanda La Gelsomina Boutique Hotel.
