Event Recap – Travel Massive Launches in Hoi An (and Da Nang)

Travel Massive launched in Hội An / Da Nang, Vietnam in December connecting more than 40 members of the local tourism community. Here’s what happened.

This is an event recap from Natalya Smolenskaya – founder of the Hoi An/Da Nang Travel Massive. Natalya is originally from Russia and has been living in Vietnam for the last four years. She’s managing Grasshopper Adventures Vietnam, a cycling tour company and moved to Hoi An earlier this year.

What was unique about this event? What stood out?

This was the first event of this kind in Hoi An.

There are a lot of people working in tourism in central Vietnam but most of them didn’t even know each other.

It was just a simple networking and drinks, to begin with, but we plan to arrange conferences, workshops and fun tours in future.

Who was there? Name drop some members!

Around 40 people attended the launch event. There were hoteliers (Anantara resort, Royal M Gallery Hotel, Almanity Hotel, Herron House etc), tour operators (Vespa Adventures), DMCs (Travel Indochina, Vietnam Rejser), a couple of travel startups, Megan Ly from travel blog Rusty Compass, and two online magazines (Hoi An Now and Coast Vietnam).
