What you need to know about TravMedia’s International Media Marketplace (IMM)

TravMedia connects the world’s travel media and publishers with tourism brands and destinations. Here’s what you need to know about their IMMs.

Kirsty Lucas is regional manager for TravMedia Australia – we asked her a few questions about International Media Marketplace (IMM) – TravMedia’s hugely successful networking events that connect professional travel media with tourism destinations and brands.

What is IMM?

IMMs (International Media Marketplace) are events with a format of robust and engaging one-on-ones with travel organisations – allowing journalists the chance to plan a year’s worth of stories, familiarisation opportunities, and features, all in one day. Besides having 22 one-on-one meetings, there are several networking opportunities through out the day.

IMM is a rare opportunity to have so many top tier media in one room from the region.

What kind of tourism industry professionals attend IMM?

IMM brings together PR Professionals from travel businesses ranging from hotels, airlines, destinations and tour operators to meet with top tier media from across the region (IMMs are held around the world – in Australia, UK, Germany, USA, Singapore and Brazil)

As an example – IMM Sydney includes editors, freelance journalists and editorially minded influencers/bloggers from Australia and New Zealand publications such as Fairfax, NZ Herald, Luxury Travel Magazine, Gourmet Traveller & International Traveller Magazine.

What makes IMM different to a conference or Exhibition?

IMM is a dedicated event for PR professionals and travel media.

It’s a highly efficient, effective day of networking and a great source for content ideas and content lead generation.

It’s just like speed dating, and really is a rare opportunity to have so many top tier media in one room from across the the region, with a pen and paper in hand ready to plan with PRs.
