Event Recap -Melbourne discusses unlocking the potential of Melbourne’s tourism markets

In January the Melbourne Travel Massive chapter hosted an engaging panel discussion on unlocking the potential of Melbourne’s inbound and outbound international tourism markets.

Thanks to Jean, our Melbourne chapter leader and coffee drinker, for this event recap.

On an unusually hot Melbourne summer’s day the Melbourne Travel Massive chapter members found themselves relaxing at OneRoof in South Melbourne. The day kick started off with handmade cookies, cold beverages, and relief from the sweltering Melbourne heat.

The event was a panel discussion hosted by our very own Jayne Gorman and joined in by  Melissa Andretta from San Francisco International Airport, Jane Carruthers from Melbourne Airport and Tim O’Callaghan, Regional Manager Victoria – Qantas. A massive shout out to Melissa who had flown in from San Francisco that very morning.

San Fracisco Airport has it’s very own therapy pig.

The panel delved into the potential tourism benefits of the new direct flights from Melbourne – San Francisco that is soon to be offered by Qantas. After an in-depth discussion, including the use of service animals to elevate stressful situations that arise at airports, our attendees were treated to an on-site chef cooked lunch by the team from Miss Chu.

This event was co-hosted and sponsored by the San Francisco International Airport. Thanks to their team for organising the amazing lunch and cookies.
