Tell us about yourself, what is your role at Deep Blue Digital?

I founded Deep Blue Digital and am the head Digital Marketing Consultant for the company. My passion is strategising with business owners to help them reach their business and marketing goals so I get involved in as many of our client projects as I physically can.

What inspired you to create your business?

After finishing my Business Management degree, I worked in corporate marketing in London for five years and studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

I decided to take a break to travel and work as a freelance marketing consultant and in my travels came across so many fantastic travel brands with amazing products and services.

They all had one key frustration in common: they struggled to keep a dependable and consistent stream of customers coming into their business.

I wanted to put my experience and education to use and help them.

What’s the biggest challenge you’re solving for tourism clients?

Getting a consistent stream of customers.

We create dependable, customer-getting strategies for our clients, so they can save time trial-and-error-ing their way through business.

We take care of the entire funnel process from generating leads to nurturing them into customers, so that busy travel business owners can focus their valuable time on doing what they love… running their business.

Top three tips for tourism brands to improve their online marketing?

  1. Focus on your marketing funnel first. It is so tempting to jump straight to generating leads, but if you don’t have a clear process for those leads, your business will be like a bunch of leaky pipes.
  2. Create a marketing blueprint for your business – a structured and simple marketing plan to implement to achieve your goals.
  3. Invest in the right tools to help you automate this whole process so you can save time and focus on running your business.
