Nairobi Hosts Travel Speed-Networking

Nairobi Travel Massive hosted a speed-dating and networking event in the beginning of July so the local community members could meet and get to know each other.

This event recap was submitted by Nairobi chapter leader Florence Kirigha, the owner of  Tulia Handmade Shop & Travel

Travel Speed-Dating and Networking

During the first part of the meetup, the attendees were divided into pairs and had five minutes each to introduce themselves, get to know each other, share their projects and what they are working on.

We got a chance to get to know each other on a one-on-one basis and made great connections.

This event format was chosen so that members were able to connect on a one-on-one basis and to build meaningful connections.

After all these small speed-dating sessions, there was time for casual networking. Then everyone had a chance to mingle and introduce themselves to each other and to share more information with the people they connected with.

Topics and Participants

  • The participants talked a lot about our Travel Massive platform and how to engage with it and the community effectively. Moreover, they were talking about how to integrate, grow and support each other within the chapter and the travel industry.
  • Another main topic was how to take advantage of new tourism trends (especially online) and learn from them – these were also great inspirations for future chapter meetups.
  • Amongst others, participants represented Nomad magazine, Kenya Tourism Board, Mara Triangle Safaris and many more local organizations and initiatives.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to Artcaffe Oval for hosting our local community!
