Travel Massive Nashville’s Launch Event

In June, Travel Massive Nashville held its first ever event at The Hermitage Hotel, a historic five-star establishment.

On an all too familiar sultry summer’s evening, the sun shined warmly upon The Hermitage Hotel as new Nashville Travel Massive members eagerly arrived for a night of drinks, appetizers, and live music.

Our kick-off event coincided with The Hermitages’ new summer series featuring live music every Friday night. General Manager Dee Patel (who has been a dear friend since offering me my first job in tourism 12 years ago!) was graciously providing drinks, h’dourves, and a gift certificate to the hotel’s Capitol Grille restaurant, the oldest and longest-running Southern restaurant.

This historic hotel is one of Nashville’s prides and the only five star five diamond establishment in the city. The staff at The Hermitage takes delight in exceptional customer service and Trevor Goulding, Director of Sales and Marketing, indulged the group by giving a tour of the entire hotel, including the famed men’s restroom – yes, I know what you’re thinking, but it’s a perfect Instagram moment and we all took advantage:

After the tour, everyone gathered in the lobby, where the winner of the Capitol Grille’s $150.00 gift card was announced! We encouraged all attendees to tweet and post on Instagram using the #travelmassivenashville hashtag and @Hermitagehotel handle. The lucky winners were Rebecca and Chris Edington of Tattling Tourist who were ecstatic as they were staying upstairs as guests. Wow! What a fabulous staycation!

Some members that also joined in on the fun included Lonely Planet editors Alexander Howard & Trisha Ping and local travel bloggers including Beth Sachan, Samantha Nelson and Abigail Breslin.

A special thanks to The Skeleton Crew for playing at our event and the staff of The Hermitage Hotel for helping to make this happen. With that much fun, we all can’t wait for the next one!
