Event Recap: Coffee Tasting & Networking in Thessaloniki

At the height of the summer, our community in Thessaloniki got together at Kafe Passion for a coffee tasting experience while chatting about the latest industry news.

Thanks to Maria Athanasopoulou, co-founder of the Thessaloniki and Northern Greece chapter, for writing this event recap. Maria is founder of Respond on Demand, a company promoting Greek tourism to travel agents abroad, and co-founder of Top Tourism – a non-profit company promoting Greek tourism and culture. She is also ambassador for Greece to the World Food Travel Association.

On July 30, 2018, Travel Massive members had the opportunity to participate in a coffee tasting event in Thessaloniki, organized in this beautiful cafe, especially for the members of Thessaloniki & Northern Greece Chapter.

The coffee tasting experience

Kafe Passion is a cozy place in Thessaloniki where someone can taste different types of coffee from all over the world, explore the magical world of coffee flavors and choose the kinds that they likes most.

Tourism professionals tried three different species of coffee – one from Ethiopia, one from Panama and one from India. The owner of Kafe Passion, Mr. Sakis Matrakas, presented to all the three unique tastes of the coffee and helped people discover the special features of each one.

All the participants kept notes for each type of coffee and created their own “coffee profile”.

At the end, Travel Massive members had the chance to taste a dessert recommended by Kafe Passion – a cheese cake with fig marmalade, which everybody liked.

The community feedback

Several members of the chapter came to the event and they found it extremely interesting. It was something special to try out different types of coffee and learn interesting facts about the coffee-making process.

It was a beautiful and relaxing afternoon at Kafe Passion in Thessaloniki. The members of Thessaloniki & Northern Greece chapter, once again, had the opportunity to meet each other, to discuss and share pleasant and educational moments.
