Rank & File is aiming to take the social entrepreneurship concept to the next level – through thoughtfully crafted global retreats for change makers, with the first one taking place in the Philippines.

In this interview, Arnold Duijzer – Director of Travel at Rank & File, shares more about the ideas behind the brand’s creative retreats.

Arnold is one of the chapter leaders for Travel Massive Chicago. Besides taking care of Rank & File, he is also Director of Operations at AHI Travel – a creative travel company recognized for deluxe international programs. 

Tell us about Rank & File and your new travel program?

Rank & File is a thoughtfully crafted social entrepreneurship magazine for the grassroots change maker who desires to make a difference in the world while building a fulfilling and financially sustainable business at the same time. At Rank & File, we are looking to expand our brand reach by offering new Global Retreats.

Our goal is to bring together purpose-driven entrepreneurs from around the world who will travel together to a global social enterprise hub for a mutual knowledge exchange with the local community.

Where and when will the first Rank & File Global Retreat take place?

Our first Global Retreat will be to the Philippines from January 27 to February 2, 2019. The Philippines is a fast-growing social enterprise hub and many speculate that it will become the worldwide capital for social entrepreneurship.

What sets its social entrepreneurship movement apart from the rest of the world is the focus within – to lift five million of the Philippines’ fellow citizens out of poverty and into dignity.

“Pro-Philippines. Pro-Environment. Pro-Poor.” is a theme we will explore on our journey – the social impact models, community-building strategies, and unique leadership styles have so much to teach us.

The 7-day itinerary will include workshops with the founders of the country’s top social enterprises, matchmaking with local entrepreneurs based on skills and cause-areas, and sustainable travel activities like hiking, island hopping, and visiting local tribes.

Who can sign up for the Global Retreat to the Philippines?

Anyone who is passionate about purpose-driven entrepreneurship is welcome to join the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of Rank & File, Kari Enge, and a small group of social entrepreneurs and change makers on this trip.

We aim to build meaningful connections and expand global networks of supportive peers, and to provide our travelers with a renewed perspective for their business, giving both the travelers and locals new mindsets and tools needed to advance their ventures.
