Event Recap – Travel Massive Toronto with Visit Phoenix

In October, the Toronto Travel Massive community was hosted by Visit Phoenix and Visit Mesa to discover all there is in the capital of Arizona, USA. 

Cristina Filipe – one of the Toronto chapter co-leaders, tells us more about what made this event special. Cristina is also a travel blogger at Chasing Travel. 

Phoenix and Mesa are well known as the heart of the Sonoran Desert and the gateway to tourist favourites like the Grand Canyon. This event was an opportunity to showcase to Canadian travel influencers that there is more to experience in this destination.

After a warm welcome by Visit Phoenix Media Relations Director Douglas Mackenzie, the Travel Massive community had an opportunity to mix & mingle with brand reps and fellow community members. Beyond Arizona desert, we learned Phoenix and Mesa are perfect destinations for the outdoor and adventure traveller, the foodie traveller, golf lovers, family travel, and spa and wellness seekers.

Travel Massive community members took to Twitter for live tweeting and sharing, which helped generate more than 1.25 million impressions and 423,000+ reach among 191 posts and shares for #myphx on Twitter.

The event hashtag also trended on Twitter at #1 in Toronto.

The energy in the room was over the top. Visit Phoenix and Visit Mesa pulled out all the stops for one of our most memorable events, including a contest giveaway.

Madisyn Mckee was the lucky winner of the amazing prize package – a full roundtrip airfare including 4-nights hotel stay courtesy of Visit Phoenix and Visit Mesa PLUS a Fresh Foodie Trail food tour courtesy of DETOURSWest. This month’s giveaway was one of our biggest at a Toronto meet-up.
