Malta’s Cinema Pitch Night Connects Content Creators
The Malta Travel Massive community recently hosted a cinema screening and pitch night to build connections between content creators and the travel industry.
This event recap was written by Steven Frigerio, who leads Travel Massive Malta. Steven runs a sustainable development consultancy The Hive Effect as well as Locanda La Gelsomina – a boutique hotel in Malta.
The event was hosted by Cinema Bar by City Lights. This was a special “cinema” bar that used to be a post-war porn cinema. It recently converted to an alternative cinema for people who want to watch movies that are not shown in other cinemas.
We started with a screening of “The Darjeeling Limited” – a movie of 3 brothers traveling across India. Cinema Bar is renowned for screening alternative movies, and we were happy we partnered with them to show a special travel movie for the event.
Alongside the movie screening, we had a special “Meet Malta’s Bloggers” part. Twelve renowned travel bloggers, journalists, writers, instagrammers and photographers did 4-minute presentations each, telling us more about their experiences.
We also had a special Skype moment with our Travel Massive members and bloggers Sarah Farrugia and Sean Azzopardi behind Whereto360 all the way from Taiwan. They shared their experience and how they have been traveling on such a small budget all around the world.
More than 60 people showed up at our November event. Some of the members who joined us were Martina Brtnicka from Maltatina, Xavier Le Roux from Le Petit Maltais, Roseanne Dimech and Samuel Mamo from The Travel 2, Lenise Calleja Photography, Dragana Rankovic Photography, Flora Cascelli from Exploring-Malta.com, Victor Calleja, Edward Lansink from Malta Uncovered, and more.
Here are some more photos from the event – thanks for sharing!
