Travel Massive launches in Costa Rica

In April, Travel Massive launched in Costa Rica and held its first ever event at Hotel Grano de Oro in San Jose.

This event recap was written by Richard Edwards founder of Travel Massive Costa Rica. Richard and his wife run GreenSpot Travel, a luxury travel company. He is also a keynote speaker at tourism conferences around the world, and recognized as a Top Travel Specialist by Condé Nast Traveler.

Supporting local communities

The first community event in San Jose was sponsored by GreenSpot Travel and UnCruise Adventures, supported by our host hotel, Hotel Grano de Oro.

We wanted to focus on the ways we can bolster conservation, cultural preservation or help local people in a meaningful way.

The Cooke family (owners of our lovely hotel venue) invited us to one of the elegant upstairs meeting rooms surrounding the courtyard of the hotel.

We learned how revenue from the hotel is the primary support for Casa Luz, a home for young mothers (most formerly abused) who now are able to find a way forward for themselves and their children. The Cookes run the facility and have dedicated immeasurable effort and time to its success.

Who was there?

We were joined by nearly a dozen travel writers and bloggers, including Juliana Dever (CleverDever Wherever), who were about to head out with UnCruise Adventures on their adventure cruise from Costa Rica to Panama.

We also had representatives of Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation Resort and Cayuga Sustainable Hospitality representing some of the most sustainable lodging in tourism.
