Lusaka Travel Massive learns from women founders in Zambia

Travel Massive Lusaka held their first event on World Tourism Day (27 September) at Mika Lodge, Jesmondine in Lusaka and heard from two women startup founders in the travel industry.

This event recap is written by Patience Tropo, a Tourism Promotions Office at the Zambia Tourism Agency. Patience is full of passion for the tourism industry and leads Travel Massive Lusaka.

Celebrating World Tourism Day

We gathered tourism professionals from Lusaka to celebrate World Tourism Day in style. The event started with presentations that introduced us to two innovative start ups from the community.

Women-led startups — Voyazed, and Rimour Tours

Our first special guest, Ms. Tiza Shanzi, shared the story of its Zambian start up Voyazed, an online booking website. Voyazed allows individuals, both local and international, to book their accommodation online and take advantage of travel packages being offered by a vast array of travel and tourism suppliers in Zambia. The presentation showed how the company started and how it is performing now. It showed lot of innovation, passion and creativity in the tourism industry.

Our second start up, Rimour Tours, also shared their story and allowed us to dive into the world of tour packaging. It was good to have young ladies venture in the tourism industry!

Special thanks

Thanks to our venue partners – Mika Lodge Jesmondine for hosting our community event. And a special thanks to everyone who joined us for the first Travel Massive Lusaka event – Grace Namalongo, Priscillah Kunda, Sally-Rose Mwachilenga, Paul Chibichabo, Billy Mwansa Lombe, and more.

— Thanks for the event recap, Patience!
