Member Interview: Valentino Coletto helps Italians find their passions abroad

Meet Valentino Coletto, the CEO and founder of REFRAMED – a company that helps Italian citizens relocate, open new businesses and find a job abroad.

Valentino is based in Padua, Italy, and is a member of Travel Massive Rome and Travel Massive LIVE. He strongly believes that you learn things through helping other people solve their problems.

How did you get into travel?

I got into travel thanks to my passion for geography, traveling and understanding the challenges of people living abroad. Many friends of mine, university classmates or work colleagues, chose to leave Italy and they all faced the same challenges, especially in the first months in their new country.

So I thought that providing support on several levels (for example residency, taxation, real estate research, job research) could be a useful service to avoid errors and unforeseen problems that could happen with a DIY approach.

Tell us more about REFRAMED

REFRAMED helps Italian citizens relocate abroad. Our company was born with the mission of giving its clients a new life perspective, supporting them through a step by step approach, from choosing the destination and renting a property, to the paperwork necessary to reside in a new foreign state. The goal is for a person, a couple, an entrepreneur or a family successfully to be reframed in a new context of life.

We combine very different qualities and skills within our team, giving value to the psychological, cultural and emotional aspects involved in the relocation to fully understand why our clients want to live abroad and what they are looking for.

What problem are you solving?

We take care of all the paperwork required for residency, real estate research (renting / buying a house) and every little detail involved in a relocation alone or with the family. We also provide fiscal and legal advice for our clients before, during and after their relocation.

In terms of job research, we work together with the client in order to get to know their salary expectations, start date, which type of contract they’re ready to accept (seasonal, long-term), etc. After that we can contact our extensive network of recruiters all over as well as outside of the European Union, explore several markets and find the most interesting job opportunities for each candidate.

We’re also sharing tons of informative content on the Reframed blog that can help people get to know the countries we’re covering with our services.

How did COVID-10 crisis affected you and your business?

Italy has been the first European country to be hit by this emergency and at the end of February we stopped all our travel offers. At the moment, it’s unclear when borders will be open again so we are pushing different services we can deliver remotely, for example consultancy about taxation, residency abroad and opportunities, especially for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

We can do this thanks to our smart team located in different time zones, used to problem solving and strategic thinking. In addition to the consultancy services, we are exploring new job markets and partners outside the European Union to offer job research support to our clients after this crisis will be behind us.

How can the Travel Massive community help you?

I decided to join the community because I wanted to connect with like-minded people in the field of travel and tourism and find brilliant professionals who can inspire me.

I’m learning a lot every day from Travel Massive and I’m here to understand better how we can support each other. You actually learn things through helping other people solve their problems.

Where do you seek advice? Who’s your hero?

Every conversation could be a chance to get advice and change your point of view. It could come from a talk with an 80-year old experienced entrepreneur at his beautiful root wood desk or a digital nomad who surfs all over the world and runs a successful digital company (yes, I know one and I happily worked with him).
